Folio: Tinybeans.com logo

Tinybeans.com

Working remotely with a client based in Sydney, the brief was to fully develop his business from his initial mockup, to a fully formed web application.

The concept of the web application is based upon measuring children’s milestones (just like a maternal health nurse would do), but measuring a broader range of milestones, and measuring more often – so that parents can watch for outliers, and be able to encourage their children with specific activities and products, so that any medical intervention may not be required at a later date.

ReBusiness’ initial task was to develop a logo, then a style for the web application, and then begin first-phase development of the project – so that the site could be launched in beta form early in 2009.

The logo came about from the concept of beans becoming sprouts, becoming strong plants – a visual metaphor that would work throughout the web site. The logo is illustrated by hand, and complimented by a child-like, but not ‘childish’ typeface.

With such an abstract business name, TinyBeans needed a by-line that would reinforce the main aim of the site, so after much brainstorming, ‘watch your children grow’ was found to be the best fit for a compliment to the new venture. As a by-line, it does not have to last for years on end – it may morph into a different statement as the business develops.

Tinybeans.com will be launching in 2009 – stay tuned for more news!
